In the parties of the physiology of the exercise
A conversation with José Antonio López Calbet
Dear reader,
We are very happy to be able to present a new number of FISSAC Magazine, in the into the physiology of the exercise, with which we meet an old objective: interview one of the most prestigious researchers in the area of the physiology of the exercise, the professor José Antonio López Calbet, who was our teacher in the origins of Fissac. We assure you that the conversation will not leave anyone indifferent.
To accompany this conversation, we also include an article by Luis López Montoya, specialist in oncological physiotherapy, who makes us an extensive analysis of lymphedema, one of the main side effects of cancer, but in turn a great unknown. In addition, we have Óscar Forquet, a specialist in dietary and nutrition, which tells us about the influence of genes in obesity. On the other hand, we also have Raúl Celdrán, physical trainer and nutritional advisor of cyclists, who will tell us how the nutritional periodization of carbohydrates can help us improve performance.
For our part, Pedro puts the focus on high intensity training, and discusses the latest evidence that relates it to possible mitochondrial damage. ADRI values the complex molecular choreography that represents the exercise to explain the multisystemic benefits of it, also analyzing whether it is possible to create a drug that imitates its effects. Finally, before the arrival of summer, Javi explains the effects - good and bad - that sun exposure can have on our health.
As always, thank you very much for reading us and for continuing to make Fissac a place of learning and continuous teachings.
