A conversation with Pere Estupinyà
Dear readers,
Thanks again for making FISSAC+possible. After 2 months since we started we have done nothing more than receiving congratulations and positive messages of all those who read us. You are the engine of this project and those that you have made possible that in this second issue of the magazine they contribute their professional experience and knowledge that reinforce the idea of gathering the best in the different fields of science, exercise, training and nutrition.
In this new number of the magazine, we have had the pleasure of having a person with which we made special illusion chat. Pere Estupinyà is one of the greatest scientific disseminators in this country and, in addition, is director and presenter of 'The brain hunter' on Spanish Television. We also have the signing of the Doctor of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, psychologist and double world champion of Karate, Óscar Martínez de Quel, who tells us about the influence of physical exercise on the academic performance of the youngest. It also collaborates with us in this number one of the revelations in recent years within the field of sports nutrition applied to performance, Aitor Viribay of Glut4science . Aitor, a specialist in training system and nutritionist of professional cyclists, will tell us about the effect of carbohydrate intake during exercise on neuromuscular fatigue. Another great expert and reference in the world of nutrition, Fernando Mata de Nutriscience , tells us about the importance of nutrition during the process of recovery of an injury, from its biological bases to the practical application.
Finally, within the usual firms of FISSAC, Pedro L. Valenzuela deals with a topic of absolute actuality in resistance sports (particularly cycling): the effect of ketone supplements on sports performance. For his part, Adrián Castillo talks about the influence of energy flow in carcinogenesis processes and reduction of the risk of cancer. Finally, Javier S. Morales drives some of the main myths that revolve around force training from the earliest ages.
